Pete Rifakes, the founder of Town Hall Brewery, explains: “Town Hall Brewery has been around since 1997, and we were using a brewhouse that was probably built in 1996! But today, technology has come to a point where there are efficiencies that we never had. By adding a quality system with more automation and safeguards, we’re confident we can make our beer more consistent … and at a faster pace.”
With over 60 different craft brews on their menu, limited space in a historic location, and a customer base invested in small batch quality, Minneapolis’ Town Hall Brewery faced some special challenges when upgrading their brewing facilities.

The decision in favor of brewing technology from the Krones Group was made for a clear reason, as Pete Rifakes states: “We’re from the Midwest…and Sprinkman and Krones have a really good name here in terms of quality. The excitement level is high as the first of Town Hall’s signature brews starts production on the newly installed brewhouse. While viewed as a long-term investment in infrastructure, it won’t take long to start to see the benefits. “In addition to the quality and consistency we’ll be able to maintain, the ability to brew the same amount of beer in 60 percent of the time is really inviting right now with labor the way it is,” says Mike Hoops.
