We’ll be the first to admit that the pumps’ product names aren’t exactly self-explanatory. At first glance, H1CP, HSCP and HMCP may not immediately indicate their intended application or even that they’re pumps at all. But there is a very clear system behind the nomenclature – and once you know what the letters stand for, you’ll see the names are in fact self-explanatory.
Not even nine years have passed since they were added to Evoguard’s portfolio, and yet it feels as if they’ve always been part of it. We’re talking, of course, about Evoguard’s hygienic centrifugal pumps. They now come in three different models, which we will describe in more detail here.
The three main models at a glance
Hygienic centrifugal pump H1CP – single stage
This is Evoguard’s standard model, which was also the first pump that Evoguard unveiled at the 2013 drinktec trade fair. Is a single-stage, non-self-priming pump whose design strengths include smooth surfaces in the product space and elastomer seals that are flush mounted, for easy cleaning and hygienic design. They are also certified under both the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) and US 3-A Sanitary Standards.
Hygienic centrifugal pump HMCP – multistage
This multi-stage, non-self-priming centrifugal pump can be equipped with two to five impeller stages, so the pressure within the system can be increased by as much as 15 bars. That makes this pump perfectly suited for processes involving thermal product treatment or filtration.
One major difference between this pump and others on the market is that all parts coming into contact with the product are made of solid material. Evoguard remains consistently true to its claims of quality and hygiene.
Hygienic centrifugal pump HSCP – single stage
Three years ago, Evoguard expanded its pump portfolio to include a self-priming version. The design is similar to the H1CP, so spare parts inventories can be kept low. Functionally speaking, it is this pump’s excellent suction power that truly sets it apart, as lines can be evacuated quickly and even larger air pockets don’t present a problem for it.
Incidentally, all pump models are equipped with hygienic mechanical shaft seals as standard and thus meet the specifications of the EHEDG. The seals also offer two additional benefits:
- Their modular design means that they can be configured individually, which in turn simplifies spare parts keeping.
- At present, the seals are used in just two sizes. This likewise yields benefits when it comes to spare parts procurement, which translate to cost savings.
Moreover, all surfaces that come into contact with the product are finished to Ra 0.8 µm as standard. This not only makes cleaning easier but also means that all three pump types are ideally suited for use in the production of sensitive products.
